Program Description

The University of California, San Francisco Dermatology Residency Program is a three year, ACGME-accredited program dedicated to providing excellent dermatology training. In keeping with UCSF's rich history of clinical and basic science research, the Dermatology Residency Program offers an American Board of Dermatology-approved, four-year, 2+2 esearch-intensive track to residents who are dedicated to a career in dermatologic research. This program consists of approximately two years of clinical training followed by two years of research, where trainees dedicate the majority of their time to developing their research career. The program welcomes applications from MD/PhD graduates with basic science research interests as well as physicians without PhDs who have an established research interest.

All applicants interested in the 2+2 research track should notify Chris Walker no later than October 1st. Applicants selected to interview for the 2+2 program will interview over two days. Candidates will participate in additional activities beyond the regular residency interview day, including meetings with UCSF research faculty and delivery of a very brief research research presentation.
